About the position
The Strategy Analyst provides analytical and research support to the Strategy function, Impact Teams and Portfolio Insights team. The Analyst can be deployed flexibly across Impact Teams and cross-cutting initiatives based on organisational need and priority, working with a Strategy Manager and/ or Director to deliver high quality analytical thinking.
Responsibilities for the Strategy Analyst include:
• Independently scope and deliver high-quality problem-solving outputs (structured analyses, synthesis, and insights) with limited oversight, directly informing Impact Teams, Strategy Managers, and Directors in strategy development and critical decisions.
• Confidently engage internal and external stakeholders (e.g. SMEs, technology companies, consultants) to inform analyses and insights.
• Bring an independent, well-reasoned point of view, grounded in evidence, and confidently defend analyses and recommendations in discussions with senior colleagues and stakeholders.
• Translate complex analyses into clear, compelling communication materials (presentations, memos, reports) that influence decision-making at the executive level.
• Contribute to the design and facilitation of workshops, forums, and stakeholder engagements, ensuring that content and process drive strategic outcomes.
• Own the quality and timeliness of assigned workstreams, proactively identifying risks, shaping approaches, and ensuring outputs meet the highest standards.
• Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels, enabling open dialogue, joint problem-solving, and buy-in to recommendations.
• Present analyses and recommendations with confidence to small groups and senior leaders.
• Continuously develop deep knowledge of the renewable energy sector, innovation ecosystems, and ARENA’s strategic priorities, becoming a go-to source of insight within the team.
• Support on Portfolio Insights work as required, including the development of Portfolio Insights strategies and the delivery of high impact initiatives (e.g. events and thought leadership).
